German news outlet Bild has declared that Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel has a "Verstappen-complex", as they analyzed that Vettel has had clashes with Max Verstappen no less than six times over the past two years.
Last weekend in Japan, it happened again. As Vettel was trying to fight his way up the field to chase the Mercedes cars that manned the first two places on the grid, he had to get past the Dutchman to take P3.
When he tried to do so, he ran out of room and clipped the Red Bull, spinning his Ferrari and ending his chances for an unlikely win, especially as he broke his right bargeboard.
The first clash between the two was in Mexico in 2016, followed by three tags in 2017 at Silverstone, in Singapore and again in Mexico. They followed the streak in China this season, when Verstappen drove into Vettel, and the German completed the set at Suzuka last Sunday to make it six.
