'Formula 1 is ultimately about killing your teammate'

Nyck de Vries has had to leave the premier class of motorsport. The Dutchman did not perform satisfactorily and will be replaced by Daniel Ricciardo for the rest of the season. Many Formula 1 celebrities have their opinions ready when it comes to this De Vries situation. Jaime Alguersuari also expresses his opinion.

"You have to see a line of improvement if there is no line of improvement they have the right to get rid of you, you have to show, i mean he had very little races to show his total performance and i am sure there was much more coming from Nyck but if there was no growth of performance from the first race to the last, look they have the right.," Alguersuari said in the Sky Sports F1 podcast.

"At the end of the day Formula 1 is about killing your teammate, because he has the same tools as you," Alguersuari said. The Spanish racing driver drove alongside Sebastien Buemi during his time at Toro Rosso. Alguersuari has never been on the podium in his Formula 1 career.

At the Hungarian Grand Prix, Ricciardo will get behind the wheel for AlphaTauri. The good-humoured Australian will finish the season on behalf of the Italian racing stable. He himself seems ready to at least have a lot of fun during his Formula 1 debut.
