Theft at Emerson Fittipaldi's house: 'Loot would be 250,000 euros'

Emerson Fittipaldi has been the victim of theft in his home. The Brazilian, living in Brescia in Italy, was robbed of his belongings. An initial estimate puts the loot at 250,000 euros, reports La Gazetta Dello Sport. Indeed, Rolex watches belonging to the former Formula 1 driver were seized.

According to local news media, the thieves allegedly took Rolex watches and jewellery. The theft was allegedly committed in haste on July 13. The Salò Carabinieri is investigating the crime. The 76-year-old Fittipaldi was not at home when thieves broke into his villa in Soiano.

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Fittipaldi was a Formula 1 world champion in 1972 and 1974. Besides becoming world champion in Formula 1, the Brazilian racing driver also became world champion in the IndyCar class. In 2022, Fittipaldi ran for the Italian Senate but was not elected.
