Formula 1 is "highly interested" in a street race in one of China's big cities

It has been reported that Formula 1 is interested in a street race in China. The sports officials are said to be "highly interested" in holding a second Grand Prix in China and have a list of six cities which could host a street circuit. China is a growing market and Formula 1's popularity in the country is increasing, making the powers of Formula 1 wanting to make the most of the opportunity.
F1 commercial chief Sean Bratches has said that a street race in a city like Beijing would be a valuable asset to Formula 1.
“In terms of interest, we would be highly interested in a street race,” Bratches told AFP.
"It would be a nice juxtaposition to the purpose-built, extraordinary facility that we have here. Our intent is to bring our show to the people.
"There are meetings set up in each with government officials to talk about identifying a second city to host a Grand Prix.

"We think there's an opportunity to grow from that perspective.”
A street race in China would certainly be iconic and would be a valuable addition to the Formula 1 race calendar.
