Max Verstappen had a difficult weekend in Bahrain. After he qualified on P7, the Dutchman finished in sixth position in Sunday's Grand Prix. Former Red Bull driver Robert Doornbos also saw the Dutchman's issues.
"Where is Max Verstappen then? He is not fourth and not fifth either," Doornbos said in his race review on Instagram. "Because that was Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton who actually had a good race for Ferrari, scoring big points," he praised the Ferrari drivers.
"But Max, dramatically only in P6," the former F1 driver continued.
"At one point he was even last in the race. Pit stops of three seconds and six seconds, the set-up was nothing," the Dutchman added. The team had issues with the lights in the pit lane.
In general, Doornbos saw his former team having a disappointing weekend. "It went from bad to worse at Red Bull this weekend. So, from hero to zero, let's hope he is a hero again next weekend in Jeddah."

Verstappen and Horner looking for improvement

Red Bull once again have to go back to the drawing board after the Bahrain Grand Prix. Throughout the Grand Prix (and the entire weekend as well), Max Verstappen voiced his issues on multiple occasions, especially with the brakes.
While Red Bull managed to score points with two drivers this season, Yuki Tsunoda only finished in P9 as well.
After the race, Verstappen was not satisfied with how the Grand Prix played out at the Bahrain International Circuit. Team principal Christian Horner also reflected at length on the issues the team had.
