Fernando Alonso's former boss Flavio Briatore has defended the Spaniard and aimed criticism at Red Bull's director, Christian Horner after he criticised Alonso's position in the sport last year. Alonso is a two-time world champion and enjoyed his times with Renault.
"I heard that Horner spoke negatively about Alonso, and I think it is something to highlight,"the Italian told Radio Sportiva .
"I still remember when I made sure that Red Bull had Renault engines.
"It is unacceptable that someone like Horner speaks ill of someone like Alonso.
“Fernando is not only a good driver but a true team man. McLaren and Honda just didn't work together, they are things that happen, ”he said of the failed partnership between the two brands."

Alonso left the sport with 32 race wins from 315 appearances in 17 seasons and drove for four teams Minardi, Renault, McLaren and Ferrari.
