The FIA didn't make the best impression last week, but are now adding to it. Lewis Hamilton was already surprised that this year's FIA Prize Giving is in Baku, but for the next edition the F1 circus is going even further afield...
At the end of the Formula One season, the annual Prize Giving Ceremony is organised by the FIA. This is where the champions of the world championships under the FIA, including the F1 championship, are crowned. Thus, Max Verstappen will also be present again this year to collect his world title.

Where will the FIA Prize Giving 2024 be organised?

This year, the event will be held in Baku. Lewis Hamilton already complained that the entire F1 circus has to travel to Baku for such a ceremony. "I have questions in my mind of whether the FIA is really actually thinking about sustainability," Hamilton revealed in Baku. The Brit will be completely amazed when he hears where the event will be staged next year.
The FIA has revealed that the 2024 FIA Prize Giving Ceremony will be held in Rwanda. While Baku still hosts an F1 race, the country in Africa does not. Why the FIA has chosen this country, when the prize could also perfectly well be organised at its headquarters in Paris, is a big mystery.
