The FIA made it clear a few weeks ago that it will closely monitor the copying behaviour between the teams. This weekend it will become clear what that means exactly and according to the latest reports, it will also be voted on.
The urgency to tighten and clarify the regulations is the result of the Racing Point protest continued by Ferrari. The other teams previously withdrew their protest against Racing Point's car, but Ferrari will only do so if the new regulations on the subject are to their liking.

Vote in Monza

There is already a proposal for a regulation change to make copying based on the actual designs of a car impossible. Now, according to sources from Auto Motor und Sport, this is supplemented with measures that should make reverse engineering more difficult.
Racing Point claims to have recreated the Mercedes car based on photos and 3D scanners, and the use of that technology, in which photos are converted into models on the computer, will now be restricted. According to the German site, there will be a vote this weekend on this subject.
