Ferrari will not settle for P3 in 2022: 'We want to win a lot'

Ferrari finished third in the Constructors' standings in 2021 thanks to a final sprint, beating great rival McLaren. In 2022, however, the team will no longer settle for third place and will need to win races.

Pressure is on at Ferrari

Ferrari has been involved in Formula 1 since day one, spends the most money, has the largest fan base around the world and has won the most titles (sixteen) in F1. With the team not winning a world title since 2007, the pressure is on ahead of the 2022 Formula One season.
For Mattia Binotto and his team, this is the moment. Ferrari changed its structure, opted for young talents Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc and chose to focus on 2022. After the debacle of 2020 things went much better in 2021, but for a brand like Ferrari not winning is unacceptable.

''To repeat these performances would be unacceptable. In Abu Dhabi it hurt us to see other teams celebrating. We want to fight for wins and poles again, as befits Ferrari. We want to win as much as possible (in 2022), but the world title is not an immediate obligation,'' Binotto said at the Italian Corriere.it.
In 2022 there is a big opportunity for Ferrari, because where Mercedes and Red Bull Racing were fighting for the world title until the last day of the season, Ferrari could focus early on the new regulations of 2022. This could give Ferrari an advantage. Which direction they have chosen with the car we will see between 16 and 18 February when the new car is presented on one of those days.
