Carlos Sainz had no easy task during the Turkish Grand Prix, starting the race from the back due to an engine change. Despite this he managed to finish eighth. It gives Mattio Binotto a great deal of satisfaction.
The team boss of Ferrari decided with the Italian team to replace the engines of the drivers during the last two races. While Charles Leclerc had to put a new engine in his car in Russia, Sainz was told to expect a new engine in Turkey.
Sainz's strong race showed that the new engine is providing hopeful results, as does Binotto. "The new engine is good. At the moment it gives us a useful advantage," he told Sky Sports. "Not only in qualifying, but also in the race with a lot of overtaking. The contribution of the engine is there, so now both drivers can count on the new engine without having to serve more penalties."

McLaren in battle with Ferrari

That's convenient for Ferrari, as the Italians are battling with McLaren for third place in the world championship this season. The gap to the competitor is still 7.5 points after the race in Turkey.
