Charles Leclerc managed to finish on the podium behind the McLaren cars in Belgium, while over the Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton also did well and gained ten positions. Team principal Frederic Vasseur addressed the update package introduced for this weekend.
Leclerc once again managed to finish on the podium at Spa-Francorchamps, after he was able to keep Max Verstappen behind.
The Monegasque driver saw the car was not far from its maximum, but Vasseur still sees the team could extract more out of their latest package, he told GPblog among others.
"I think that we have to fine tune the situation, but it's never easy to introduce something on a sprint weekend, but we didn't want to postpone it to Budapest," he began.
"It's true that with the format of the weekend, the fact that you don't [do a] long stint on Friday or doing a long stint of four laps, it's not easy to have references and so, but at the end I think it was the right call because it's also the best preparation for us for next week. We try to put everything together a bit earlier into the weekend to be a bit more performant next week."

Focus shifts to next season?

Next season, new regulations will be introduced in Formula 1. Therefore, an important point for the teams is to decide when to focus on their challenger for next year.
Will Ferrari bring anything new after their latest package? "No, I think we are all in the same situation, closer you will be to the end of the season, more focus you will be on next year. For sure we'll have to bring some smaller items until the end more related to the layout of the track or the weather conditions or whatever but no big package," the Frenchman explained.
