As always, let’s take a look at the two main Formula 1 news stories for Wednesday, February 4.

Verstappen speaks out on his plans beyond Formula 1 career

Now 28 years old, Max Verstappen is about to tackle his fourth major regulatory overhaul in Formula 1, a milestone that places him among the most seasoned and decorated competitors on the grid.
Beyond his commitments in F1, Verstappen has been increasingly active in GT racing, overseeing a GT3 operation that competes across multiple GT World Challenge championships. He has also expressed interest in adding the 24 Hours of Nürburgring to his racing résumé.
Looking further ahead, Verstappen has been clear about his long-term ambitions. While his profile within F1 continues to grow, he has dismissed the idea of transitioning into a managerial role once he steps away from the cockpit, opting instead to channel his focus toward sportscar racing in his post-F1 career.

Christian Horner gives outspoken views on 'cheating' F1 teams

Speaking publicly for the first time since his departure from Red Bull last summer, the British manager also touched on one of the key talking points ahead of the 2026 season.
"F1 is about pushing the boundaries, it's about how you interpret regulations, always has been and always will be. Teams that are the most conservative, are never at the front of the grid. You've got to be pushing the envelope. Some of the brightest engineers on the planet will be looking at those regulations and thinking 'okay, how can I maximise performance."
