Max Verstappen is not the only one who can boast GT3 success in the Formula 1 paddock, as James Vowles won his category at the 2025 Gulf 12 Hours. Earlier this year, many Formula 1 fans were first introduced to GT3 racing through Verstappen's participation, who competed twice at the Nordschleife in the NLS and
won on his GT3 debut in the series.
Williams team boss Vowles is also fond of endurance racing. This weekend, driving for the Garage 59 team, he won the Gulf 12 Hours in the AM category, driving the number '8' McLaren 720S GT3 Evo together with Marco Pulcini, Mark Samson and Alexander West.
They finished 10th overall, one place ahead of the team featuring Thierry Vermeulen, who competes for Verstappen.com Racing in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.

On social media, the British team boss wrote: "Fantastic! AM category winners after 12 tough hours of racing alongside some incredible drivers and teams.
"This victory means that, for the second consecutive year, Garage 59 leaves the Gulf 12 Hours as class winners
From 09:00 this morning through until 23:00 this evening, we gave it everything and we couldnβt be happier with this result.
"Thank you to everyone for the support over the past few days and those who came out in person.
A final thanks to Alex, Mark and Marco. Brilliant teammates. Thank you to Garage 59. Really happy with my progress and a weekend I wonβt forget!"
