Audi has also announced the team name under which the new outfit will compete in
Formula 1. The team, with its drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, will take part in the world championship as the
Audi Revolut
F1 Team with the British bank as its title sponsor.
Audi team principal Jonathan Wheatley said:
“Today, our project takes on its official identity. The Audi Revolut F1 Team name is a symbol of the combined strength of our teams in Germany, UK and Switzerland, together with our partners. It provides a banner under which we all unite as we build towards 2026. Audi is taking over from Sauber, and as a result, Sauber Motorsport AG will be renamed Audi Motorsport AG. The team’s technology center in Bicester, UK, will become the Audi Motorsport Technology Centre UK. The company will honor its history by keeping the names Sauber Holding AG and Sauber Technologies AG.
