Future MotoGP rider David Alonso returned to winning ways with a dominant victory in Malaysia.
The Colombian finished almost two seconds ahead of teammate Dani Holgado in an impressive display.
Further down the order, another future MotoGP rider - Izan Guevara - finished fourth ahead of title rival Manu Gonzalez, closing the championship gap to three points with three races to go.
Alonso hadn't won a race since the Netherlands nine rounds ago, seeing his hopes of adding another world championship to his 2024 Moto3 title evaporate.
During that time, Manu Gonzalez built up a healthy lead of almost 100 points, but now Guevara has reduced it to just 3.5.

Guevara will be racing for Pramac Yamaha next year in MotoGP next year, with Alonso accompanying him in the top class with LCR Honda.
