Formula 1 paused before each race in 2020 to reflect on their 'WeRaceAsOne' campaign, which called for an end to racism. Motorsport.com says Formula 1 will discuss how to continue this in the coming weeks. Stefano Domenicali has already stated that Formula 1 will continue to address social issues.
"In any case, we want to use that moment to show the outside world that Formula One has two feet in society," the new Formula One boss for Liberty Media told Sky Sports. "F1 wants to continue to play an active role in reinforcing these values," by which Domenicali means the diversity and anti-racism message.

No political message

How they will fill in that moment just before the race he does not know yet. He says he will discuss with the drivers and the teams how they can make the most of this moment when all eyes are on the sport. Whether the drivers will kneel down again every race is therefore uncertain.
However, the Italian is keen to stress that it is not intended to be a political message, but simply that the sport wants to 'raise awareness of social norms and values'. Last season, at the Tuscany Grand Prix, there was some controversy over Lewis Hamilton's T-shirt on which the world champion encouraged the sentencing of two police officers in the United States.
