Luca Montezemolo has aimed a subtle swipe at the Scuderia Ferrari outfit in his recent comments on the Italian team.
“With the current climate in Maranello, Bologna will win first."

The 78-year-old, speaking after Italian Serie A side Bologna lost the Supercoppa Italiana final, was asked whether the Emilia-Romagna club or Ferrari would clinch a title first.
Montezemolo, offering a cheeky response via Quotidiano Sportivo, quipped: “With the current climate in Maranello, Bologna will win first."
For context, Bologna last tasted a Serie A title triumph in 1964. Montezemolo himself was part of Ferrari’s last drivers’ title-winning campaign with Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen in 2007. The F1 team is now enduring its longest title drought in history, having gone without a drivers’ or constructors’ crown from 2008 to 2025.

The Ferrari outfit also experienced one of its most challenging seasons in recent years, failing to secure a race victory and mustering only seven podium finishes across 24 Grands Prix during the campaign.

Montezemolo describes Ferrari leadership as soulless

Earlier, Montezemolo described the current Ferrari leadership as soulless and lacking stability. The Italian motorsports chief, in his assessment, pointed out the manner of operations surrounding current team principal Fred Vasseur.
The words of the former Ferrari team president come off the back of his scathing criticism, in which he called for a better car amid the struggles of the SF-25 challenger during the recently concluded 2025 season.
