Duel at Ferrari becomes exciting: ''Success is also a question of intelligence''

Carlos Sainz will be joining Ferrari next season and has seen his wish come true, and that of his father. Sainz senior is very proud of his son and now he has built his own career in the sport.

''We talk on the phone every day. He is as proud of me as I am of his career. He is now at a point where public attention is beginning to shift a little. He is no longer the son of the World Rally Champion, but I am the father of the Ferrari driver,'' Sainz senior said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

''When he signed the contract, we had a party. It doesn't happen very often in a driver's career and he was in seventh heaven. I just see how motivated he is now,'' says the current number three driver of the Dakar Rally 2021. However, Sainz won't get it easy in 2021, because with Charles Leclerc as his teammate, competition will be tough.

''Carlos and Charles have been exceptional men among the young talents. They are both very fast, but success is also a question of intelligence. However, both are also smart enough that they can only advance Ferrari together. I think they can work very well together,'' concludes the Spaniard.
