Daniel Ricciardo is forced to start from the back of the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix after Renault changed his entire engine. The Australian experienced a poor qualifying session and couldn't get out of Q1.
The penalty pushes him from P18 to the back of the grid. As it only pushes him back one row, it's almost a free penalty for the team to take. After a DNF last weekend in Germany, Ricciardo will be hoping he can do a Sebastian Vettel as any points will be more than welcomed going into the summer break.
Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, McLaren has a 31 point lead, with Toro Rosso wedged in between. Where he tried to opt for a new and fresh start with Renault, his career seems to be in a considerable dip. Ricciardo is finding it harder to showcase his talent and frustration increases. Now that Red Bull also seems to be finding more and more speed, Ricciardo will always think more and more about his choices from the past.
