Valtteri Bottas has admitted that he feels there needs to be a change to a change to the barrier he hit following his crash in the qualifying. The Fin hit the wall at the exit of turn 16 in the final session of qualifying.
"Definitely, I think we should try and avoid those kinds of TecPro things – I’m sure it’s a good thing but how it starts, maybe it should start way a lot earlier or much later, " Bottas told Dieter Rencken.
"I don’t know, but it’s not ideal. You know, [I’d} be all fine and in no pain at all if we had could continue the wall like it was. For sure we’ll bring it up."
The Mercedes drivers championship hopes could be over today if teammate Lewis Hamilton outscores the Fin by 14 points.
Bottas will start sixth on the grid while Hamilton moved up to third following the three-place penalty of Max Verstappen.
