Ferrari is at an absolute low in 2020, qualifying in 13th and 14th in Belgium. Should we take into account that we will see
Ferrari even more often in the back of the field this year? Not according to
Mattia Binotto.
Although
Ferrari seems to suffer a lot from a lack of power on a circuit where horsepower is almost as important as aerodynamics, Binotto says the problems at
Spa-Francorchamps are more specific.
"The problem is related to this weekend," says Ferrari's team boss to Sky Italia. "We haven't been able to understand how the tyres work here. After all, it's the same car we used in the last races, just like the competition."
Ferrari took a gamble
In addition to these specific tire problems, Binotto says the team took more risk with the strategy prior to the weekend. By equipping the cars with a lot of downward pressure, Ferrari hoped to strike in wet conditions, but for now the whole weekend has been dry.
