Alpine seems to have developed a strong car this season, but the team has not yet scored as many points as expected. Fernando Alonso hopes the team can recover after all the bad luck in the first four races of the season.
Alonso managed to qualify on P5 on Friday in Imola, but he crossed the finish line in ninth place during the sprint race. In the rainy conditions during the Grand Prix, Alonso collided with Mick Schumacher, completely destroying the Spaniard's Alpine. Consequently, Alonso had to park his car in the garage.
"Another time it’s out of our control that we lost another race. We are extremely unlucky in this first part of the championship but there’s still a long way to go. Hopefully we can recover", Alonso is quoted on [F1.com.

Alonso thinks situation unfair

The Bahrain Grand Prix is already the last time Alonso scored points in 2022. During the Australian Grand Prix the driver suffered hydraulic problems, in Saudi Arabia he also dropped out due to reliability issues. "The car seems quite fast this year and yeah, it is unbelievable that we have only two points in the drivers’ championship because I think it’s a little bit unfair at the moment", says the Spaniard.
