Tyre strategy once again seems to be hugely important in Imola. Although there will be no major changes at the front, there seems to be plenty of reasons in civil society to play with the strategy. Mercedes and Max Verstappen all start on the medium band, while the rest of the top ten are on the softest band.
Alexander Albon also started on the softest tyre and indicated after qualifying that the strategy was likely to be finalised. “The medium are the tyres to use in the race run. I wouldn't call it as bad as Portugual were the mediums were better in every sense, this time it's more for long runs”, Albon explains in Red Bull Racing's online press moment.

Little damage to the tyres

In the second part of qualifying Albon tried to qualify on that yellow belt, but due to a spin he had to do it on the soft red belt. “For us, how damaged is that tyre because that's a tyre I plan to use in the race, we don't have any new mediums left.”
We just need to make sure that tyre is okay. When I spun and drove off, it felt okay with the vibrations. But we'll analyse it tonight”, Conclude Albon.
