Sebastian Vettel will start the United States Grand Prix from last position. The German will therefore start on the hard tyre and F1 journalist Peter Windsor saw interesting things happening at the four-time World Champion's team, Aston Martin on Friday.

Vettel drives impressive stint

Windsor even called it the most interesting thing he saw happen on Friday at Circuit of the Americas. Along with George Russell, Vettel will start at the back of the grid, due to a complete engine change. The German practiced on Friday with the tyre on which he will start.
In his review of Friday on YouTube Windsor said: "In my opinion, the most interesting part of the day was Sebastian Vettel. He will start on the hard tyre and he drove a 1.41.6 on that. That actually isn't not a slow time anyway on fuel."

Interesting data from Aston Martin on white tyre

"The impressive thing about this was that at the end of an eleven-lap stint on that hard tire he drove a 1.41.9. That's brilliant. Firstly, that says a lot about Vettel's consistency. Secondly, it also says a lot about the hard tires."
Windsor expects Vettel's data to have a big impact on the teams' strategy. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko already reported that the soft and medium tyres will wear out very quickly. The hard tyre seems to be the strong option this weekend.
