The continuation of the Japanese Grand Prix is highly uncertain. The infections are rising enormously and in Tokyo, a record number of infections was reported this week. The Olympic Games should have served as an example for the GP in Japan, but it seems to have backfired.

There is a lot of criticism on the sporting event from the population and so it seems unlikely that Formula 1 will be welcomed with open arms by the government. The information about the ticket sales would be announced this week, but on the official website of the Suzuka circuit, you can read that it has been postponed now.

They were supposed to announce the pre-sale and general sale schedules and the details of each ticket at the end of July, but this will now only be clarified at a later stage. "We are waiting until we can provide more reliable information in light of the current social situation," the statement said. "We ask for your understanding."

Two times United States?

In Japan, the WEC race and MotoGP have already been cancelled for September and October. The Japan Grand Prix is also scheduled for October. By mid-August, it should reportedly be known whether racing can take place at the circuit, as that is when the teams' overseas containers are sent on their way. If Japan can not take place, there is a significant chance that Austin will get a second race.
