Max Verstappen took a hard hit at Silverstone, but will probably not drive differently. Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher thinks he will at most take Lewis Hamilton more into account.

"Max is not afraid, so he will definitely not slow down," Schumacher told F1-Insider.com. "He'll just maybe look in his mirrors a bit more often." In any case, he certainly doesn't expect a change in driving behaviour from Verstappen: not more reserved, but not more aggressive either.

Schumacher made horror crash of 78G

Schumacher himself has a lot of experience with big crashes: in 2004, he made a horror crash on the circuit of Indianapolis in his BMW-Williams. He suffered a blowout on the fastest part of the track and crashed into the wall with an impact of 78G. He came away with a concussion and two minor vertebral fractures.

"It was tough, especially the first two weeks," he says of his experience. "I couldn't get back into the car for three months. Before then I got a bit tired of all those free practice sessions, but when I got back in the car after three months and broke the track record during a test at Silverstone, I felt like I was really driving again."
