He found success in the early 90s and started moving up the ranks. at 17, he could drive in the ADAC Junior Formula Championship and positive results meant he could move to Formula 3 cars. How did Ralf Schumacher perform in Formula 1?

Ralf Schumacher signed a contract with Jordan and made his Formula 1 debut at the 1997 Australian Grand Prix, where he qualified in 12th. His race ended very early due to a transmission issue. Later in the month, at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Ralf Schumacher completed more than half of the race but had to retire due to another car problem.

In just his third race in his Formula 1 career, Ralf Schumacher was able to step on the podium. Ralf qualified in sixth place and sat directly behind his brother on the grid, who started fourth. Whilst only nine drivers completed the full race distance, he always ran in the front-running positions and held second place for a significant part of the race.
