After a somewhat dull race in Monaco, there was plenty of action on track again in Azerbaijan. Aston Martin and AlphaTauri are the big winners with their first podiums of the season. Mercedes is again the big loser with a twelfth and fifteenth place.

Red Bull Racing: 8

The team will leave Azerbaijan with mixed feelings, but really Red Bull can't be blamed for anything. A seemingly certain 1-2 was lost through no fault of the team after Max Verstappen's blowout. Sergio Perez seems to have found his feet and did exactly what was expected of him and took the win when Verstappen dropped out. Perez's pit stop was
slow, but the strategy ensured that both cars ended up in front of Lewis Hamilton. Furthermore, the team is running ahead of Mercedes in the championship.

Mercedes: 4

After a dramatic weekend in Monaco, Mercedes also let it down in Baku. Both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas lacked speed, although Hamilton still managed to qualify in second place by driving with as little wing as possible. Bottas qualified only tenth and failed to come forward in the race, eventually finishing twelfth. Hamilton ended up behind both Red Bulls after the pistops and threw his own glass in the fire at the restart by messing with his brake balance.

Ferrari: 7.5

Charles Leclerc wanted revenge for Monaco and took pole position in Baku. With Carlos Sainz in fifth place, the Italian team's qualifying speed was once again on point. In the race however it was a different story. Leclerc quickly lost his leading position to Hamilton and cannot measure up to the top teams. With a fourth place for Leclerc and an eighth for Sainz Ferrari does score enough points to take over third place in the championship from McLaren.

McLaren: 7

Not a smooth weekend for McLaren. Due to unclear communication between the team and Lando Norris the Briton was given a grid penalty and had to start ninth. Daniel Ricciardo missed Q3 by a mistake and started as thirteenth. In the race McLaren is solid with a fifth and ninth place. However, the team scores just too few points to keep Ferrari behind them in the championship.

AlphaTauri: 9

Red Bull's sister team were on a good run all weekend with both Pierre Galy and rookie Yuki Tsunoda. After an excellent qualifying, nothing goes wrong in the race either. Both drivers achieve their best result of the season and Gasly scores another podium. On top of that the team climbs up to fifth place in the championship at the expense of Aston Martin.

Aston Martin: 9

Sebastian Vettel finally seems to get the hang of his new car. After a great fifth place in Monaco, the four times world champion is finally back on the podium. Lance Stroll crashed out after a blowout, resulting in too few points to maintain fifth place in the championship.

Alpine: 7

At Alpine, Fernando Alonso seems to be getting more comfortable. The Spaniard managed to get back into Q3, and in the race he achieved his best result of the season. Especially by making up some places at the restart. Esteban Ocon' s race only lasted three laps due to a technical problem.

Alfa Romeo: 8

For the second race in a row a point is scored by Alfa Romeo and that is an excellent result for the team in the rear. After Antonio Giovinazzi in Monaco, it is up to Kimi Raikkonen in Baku to get a tenth place and thus a point.

Haas: 6

Another colourless race for Haas, but Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin at least manage to get their cars across the finish line in one piece. The fact that they finished ahead of seven-time world champion Hamilton must have pleased them too.

Williams: 5

George Russell again manages to qualify well in fifteenth place, but falls back in the race. He eventually has to retire just before the restart due to gearbox problems. Latifi finishes inglorious last.
