Earlier today it was announced that the Canadian Grand Prix will not take place due to the coronavirus for the second year in a row. Shortly after this announcement, the Grand Prix of Mexico and the United States have announced that they will continue for the time being.

No race in Canada in 2021

The Canadian GP is normally held in the summer, as those are the only months where Canadian weather can't get in the way. It can often still snow well into the spring in the country. For this reason the race is also separate from the other GP's held on the American continent.

United States and Mexico want to organize the race as planned

The GP's of the United States, Mexico and Brazil are traditionally held one after the other towards the end of the season. The races in the United States and Mexico will continue for the time being, says the organization of the Mexican Grand Prix in a statement.

The United States is scheduled for the weekend of October 22-24. One week later the Formula 1 will visit Mexico. The races are still far away, but the organization wants to show that the intention is still to organize a race in 2021.
