Mercedes to start season with black livery again in 2021

In 2020 Mercedes ran a unique black livery compared to their silver one which we have seen in years gone by. Could we see Mercedes sticking with the black livery in 2021?

At the beginning of 2020 Lewis Hamilton sat down with the management of Mercedes. More had to be done in the fight against racism and inequality. He convinced his team to start with a black livery in 2020, to send a clear message.

Another black livery for Mercedes

According to The Independent, this will also be the case in 2021. Despite the fact that Lewis Hamilton still has not renewed his contract, Mercedes have already agreed to drive in black for another year. This means that the traditionally silver colour will be exchanged again.

It seems to be in advance for the longer stay of Lewis Hamilton. The Brit could achieve a record number of eight world titles, but has still not signed his contract. INEOS would be prepared to bridge the difference in price, but Hamilton would like a multi-year contract, where Mercedes only wants to give out a contract for one year.
