Honda hopes for a strong Sunday: 'We have not been able to do that in the last few

For Honda, qualifying ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix was hugely hopeful. With all four cars in the top ten, they were extremely happy with the drivers of Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri, but they still remain critical and see a number of points for improvement. Toyoharu Tanabe explains in the Honda review what could have been better.

"It is very positive to have two Aston Martin Red Bull Racing cars together," Tanabe said. Although all four Honda cars are in the top ten, there is still some discontent. "As for AlphaTauri, looking at how free practice went, we might have expected a slightly higher result."

"However, their long run pace is promising," Tanabe expects the race to go better than the last few races, as Red Bull has not been on the podium for some time. The last time was three races ago in Portugal when Verstappen finished third.

“In the last few races, we have not been able to convert qualifying speed into the results we were hoping for. We are working hard to ensure that we can convert that speed on Saturday to a good speed in the race tomorrow," Tanabe concluded.
