Haas is one of the teams of which it is not yet clear who will be in the car next year. Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen both have expiring contracts and the list of candidates for a seat is long. Several sources now report that one driver will almost certainly have a contract for 2021.

Mazepin to Haas

One of the names that has been linked for a long time as an option for Haas is Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin. Motorsport.com report that the driver is almost certain of a contract for 2021 and that he only needs to officially get his super license from the FIA. Mazepin is currently fifth in the Formula 2 championship. Moreover, Mazepin would bring a lot of money to Haas, thanks to his father, billionaire Dmitry Mazepin.

Who will drive next to Mazepin?

If the reports are true that the young Russian will be driving for Haas next year, all that remains is who his teammate will be. The Ferrari talents Mick Schumacher, Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman have been mentioned, but also the experienced drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez. However, it now seems almost certain that the contracts of current drivers Grosjean and Magnussen will not be renewed.
