Gasly after bizarre victory: "I just can't believe this!"

Prior to the Italian Grand Prix, everyone assumed that Mercedes would take the victory again. However, due to bizarre circumstances of the race, Pierre Gasly took his first victory.

"To be honest, I can't believe it. I just can't realize what's happening right now. It was such a crazy race, we took full advantage of the red flag. The car was very fast today and we had a pretty fast car behind us. I've gone through so many emotions in a time of 18 months. On my first podium last year I was already... wow. And now my first win, with AlphaTauri. At Monza! I just can't realize it," the Frenchman said after the race.

"I have no words for this. This team has done so much for me, they have given me my first opportunity in Formula 1, my first podium and now my first victory. It is really crazy. I am so happy, I can't say enough. I am so grateful to everyone on the team and Honda. It is a power circuit and we won the race. It's a great day. I can't believe this happened to AlphaTauri. We've just been focusing on ourselves and working on the car, step by step, since last year. I'm so happy," concludes Gasly.
