Styria's GP might not have had the entertainment content of Austria's GP a week earlier. But there is still plenty to talk about the performance of various teams during the Styrian GP. Of course, the qualifying in the rain on Saturday is always a sensation. Former driver and analyst Martin Brundle takes us along in his column, on skysports.com, in his experience of the weekend.

"The race had its moments, especially in midfield, but could not match the chaos and drama of the first race seven days earlier." Brundle was already secretly admitting. "There were many strong performances to make an intriguing grid, including Carlos Sainz for McLaren in third place, but who also saw Racing Point and Ferrari slightly lower than they would have been in the dry. And Max Verstappen and Lewis in the front row that always generates a great anticipation".

Compliments and pity

Brundle had his compliments for the work of Verstappen, but also felt sorry for the Dutchman: "While Hamilton controlled the pace in front, Verstappen did an admirable job by splitting up the "Mercs" in second place, and together with championship leader Valtteri Bottas this trio left the field in its distant wake. "Verstappen was grumpy, of course. The pace of Mercedes was just too high, despite his excellent performance, and he probably thinks it's another season in which he plays the supporting role".
