With the announcement of Fernando Alonso at Renault, a total of three teams have already established their lineup for 2021. In addition to the French race stable (which also has Esteban Ocon under contract), Ferrari and McLaren also know with which drivers they will be in action next season. Where are still seats available?

Prior to the start of the season in Austria, the silly season was already running at full speed. Daniel Ricciardo left for McLaren, while Sainz made the switch to Ferrari. As a result, next season Ferrari will throw in the world title with Charles Leclerc and Sainz. McLaren wants to close the last gap to the top teams with Lando Norris and Ricciardo in the ranks.

No signatures at Mercedes yet

Talking about top teams, at Mercedes they have two more vacancies. At the world champion Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas do not yet have a contract for 2021. However, they both seem to be eligible for a new commitment. Bottas may have to fear for George Russell if the young Briton has a good season with Williams. The Mercedes-junior is highly regarded in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Red Bull Racing knows that Max Verstappen will join the team next year. Alexander Albon seems to have the best chance of a second seat in a constant season, although the sounds of a return of Sebastian Vettel (leaving Ferrari after this season) are getting louder and louder.

The other F1 teams

Racing Point has already confirmed Sergio Perez for 2021 and Lance Stroll also seems to be able to count on a new contract, as father Lawrence is the owner of the British formation. The only one who could take the place of the young Canadian could be Vettel. Snapping up a four-time world champion could help make the Aston Martin F1 Team a top team.

At Alfa Romeo Racing, Haas F1 and AlphaTauri, there's still room for improvement. They have not yet handed out any contracts for the coming seasons. At Williams, Russell is still tied up until 2021, but when Mercedes decides to call on him next year, that contract will be worth nothing.
