George Russell can start the Formula 1 season with a lot of confidence with his virtual title already in his pocket. The Brit won the official virtual Grands Prix in the last four races and became the virtual champion as well.

''It actually started for fun with some friends, but soon I noticed that everyone was very quick. I normally drive in the back, so I didn't want to be uncompetitive here either. That's why I put some time into it and that competition was really fun," says Russell in Sky Sports' Vodcast.

Russell in shape

Of course, Formula 1 is a bit different, but it helped Russell, according to his own words. "You have to qualify in three laps anyway. You can still practice so much, but it has to happen in that one lap. That pressure makes it really real, just like the start feels really real'', Russell concludes.

The Williams driver will probably have to go back to the back of the grid in the real world. As much as he'll practice on that, his Williams won't suddenly be able to compete for victory. It's to be hoped for the Brit that Williams has taken a step forward, otherwise the only duel Russell can win is with his teammate.
