Max Verstappen claimed pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix with an impressive qualifying performance. Speaking to GPBlog after the session, the Dutchman reflected on his performance and the pace that secured him the top spot on the grid.
The Dutchman was very pleased to claim the top starting spot. Verstappen spoke highly of the upgrades Red Bull has brought in recent weeks, which have enabled him to compete at the front again.
Verstappen has seen Red Bull continue to develop the car throughout the season, allowing them to compete at the front. He is also satisfied with a view to next year: “The most important thing is where we have come from this season.”
Verstappen proud of Red Bull’s development
Red Bull has tried to improve the car throughout the year, and that is now paying off, unlike with some other teams, Verstappen observes: "We have introduced many upgrades to the car and also encountered problems with certain components, but by now everything has been resolved. That is very important with a view to next year. You can see that some teams are still uncertain about certain updates, whereas everything works for us. That is, of course, a positive.”

Verstappen hopes Red Bull’s updates will also show next year that they have taken the right direction with their development: “You never know. It is always difficult to say with components you develop that have never existed before. However, all the updates we introduced on the car this year have worked. That is positive."
The four-time world champion also points to Red Bull’s new wind tunnel: "Hopefully, we can carry that experience into next year. In addition, we will of course also have a new wind tunnel. That is a completely different story, and we will have to wait and see whether everything works properly. So it is no guarantee.”
