The provisional plan for Formula 1 is to start in Austria on 5 July with a second race on the Red Bull Ring one week later. Then the whole thing wants to move to Silverstone for two races there, but the British government can create a problem with its measures concerning the coronavirus. Should it not be possible to race in the UK, there is an alternative with Portugal on the table.

Quarantine

From June onwards, it should be possible again in the UK to organise sporting events, albeit without an audience. However, international travellers will have to go into quarantine for two weeks before they can move freely around the country. This is not a viable scenario with two races shortly before the beginning of July in Austria, so we are now looking into whether an exception can be made.

If racing at Silverstone is not possible due to the measures, there is an alternative option at the circuit in Portimão, Portugal. This circuit already has an F1 license and would be in consultation with Formula 1. There would also be a double race in Portugal on the aforementioned circuit, this as a replacement for Silverstone, GPUpdate.net writes.

With this, Formula 1 would have a fallback option, so the season could at least continue. After the races in the UK - or perhaps Portugal - the intention is to go to Hungary. A possible alternative option is still Hockenheim, but this requires that the measures allow it and that they do not have to pay a 'hosting fee'.
