Oliver Bearman has marked the fourth flag of qualifying with an untimely crash at the start of Q2. With Esteban Ocon out in Q1, Bearman stood as Haas' only hope to make it into Q3.
As the Briton came out of Turn 2, he brushed the concrete wall. That mild brush that could be described as a kiss instead, caused irreversible damage to his suspension.
This marked the end of qualifying for the Briton and the American-owned team.
Four red flags mar Baku GP qualifying
Alexander Albon was the first to find the wall with seven minutes having been run in Q1, brining out the red flag for the first time.
Nico Hulkenberg then crashed his Sauber, tearing off his car's front wing and neutralising the session yet again.
At the end of Q3 Pierre Gasly went off, and Franco Colapinto, distracted by his teammate's crash put it in the wall on the exit of Turn 4.
At the beginning of Q2 Bearman clipped the wall, bringing his session to a premature end.
