Former World Champion Boxer praises Sergio Perez's "dedication and sacrifice"
Former World Champion Boxer Tony Bellew has praised Sergio Perez's elite level of dedication and believes that this is why the Mexican has been able to perform at the elite level for so long. The SportPesa Racing Point driver starts today's race in 15th and will hope to be able to get into the points and put on a strong performance for the team.
"There's nothing I could tell this man that would help him," Bellew said at a SportPesa fan zone interview. "He's at the elite level of the sport. He's at the highest level possible. He's got here through hard work, dedication and sacrifice. Nothing has been gifted to this man he's earnt everything he's got.
"I've learnt that Formula 1 drivers are athletes. He's not just someone who drives a fast car he's an immense athlete who trains hard day in day out and his success is no coincidence, so well done!"
Formula 1 always bring celebrities and athletes from different walks of life together and continues to do so. SportPesa Racing Point will hope to get in the points and get their season back on track.
