Lewis Hamilton has avoided any punishment from the stewards for his role in the incident that saw Max Verstappen run off at turn five, during FP2 of the French Grand Prix.
The Brit made a mistake at turn four and wiped out a bollard to add to his troubles as he ran off the track before returning at turn five. Hamilton returned to the track just in front Max Verstappen and the Dutchman subsequently ran off the track himself after fighting for grip.
Hamilton had been under investigation but the stewards reviewed the incident and reported: "The situation was not particularly dangerous" and there would be no further action taken.
Sebastian Vettel was handed a five-second penalty for a similar incident at the Canadian Grand Prix and after an appeal at the Paul Ricard circuit on Friday the original decision stood.
