Kimi Raikkonen is hopeful that the new parts that are set to be introduced to Alfa Romeo's car for the French Grand Prix can lift the team's performance.

Raikkonen started the season off really well for his new team - recording four successive point finishes for the team he rejoined after his spell at Ferrari.

However, the newly-named Alfa Romeo side have struggled in the previous three races. They struggled with the temperatures in Spain, they struggled to perform to any decent level in qualifying for the Monaco GP, and likewise the Canadian Grand Prix.

"It was sort of a tough weekend to get through, we never had enough speed and, obviously, it was far from a perfect race," Raikkonen said, as quoted by Motorsport Week

"Once we were in P12 or P13 then I don't care if I finish there or last... you don't get anything from there. In some laps, it felt a bit better, on other laps we were lacking a lot of grip; it was not consistent.

"Hopefully for the next race, we'll get some new stuff and move forward."
