Liveblog: Spanish Grand Prix FP3

The Formula 1 action is well underway in Spain this weekend as Mercedes aim to make it five consecutive one-two finishes. It has been quite routine for the Silver Arrows at the Circuit de Catalunya with Valtteri Bottas topping the leaderboard ahead of Lewis Hamilton in second.

Bottas took the lead early on and continued his impressive form topping the FP2 leaderboard in 1:17.284s. Hamilton meanwhile almost dropped it early on as he struggled to adapt to tyre temperatures. Nonetheless, he powered on to come second in the session.

Ferrari threatened Mercedes' place at the top but failed to hold their places with the Mercedes dominant. The Scuderia briefly went quickest on the soft tyres but were beaten by their rivals. The team will want to make a statement going into the all-important qualifying session on Saturday afternoon.
