Leclerc may have said too much on new Ferrari engine in Baku

Leclerc finished the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in fourth place, but was largely out of contention for a podium throughout the race after starting from second on the grid.

This means Ferrari's podium-free streak continued in Baku, having begun at the Hungarian Grand Prix before the summer break this season.

Speaking to the Italian branch of Sky Sports, Leclerc was asked whether his car was fitted with the ADUO 2 (Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunity 2) power unit. Throughout the year, teams that lag behind the best internal combustion engine by a certain percentage in FIA performance measurements are allowed to use a number of development opportunities based on their deficit.

Leclerc answered: "I had the latest specification." After looking at his press officer, he added: "I don’t know if I’m saying something I wasn’t supposed to say."

Lewis Hamilton had a clear answer when asked about the rumours linking Christian Horner to Ferrari, after the former Red Bull Racing team principal said Ferrari would be his dream job.

With Ferrari under growing pressure after going five consecutive races without a podium, Hamilton was asked by Sky Sports whether he still considers Vasseur the right person to lead the team. The seven-time world champion responded with a simple and unequivocal "Yes" to the question.

Asked what needs to be done in the remaining races of the season, the Briton once again kept his answer brief, responding simply: "Keep trying."

Vasseur also addressed questions about his future in Baku. The Frenchman said: "It is not in my hands, and Horner is looking for a job, everybody knows, everywhere, but what can I do? Just try to do my best to move the team, to raise them and to be better than today.
