Huge demolition work at Hungaroring: This is what the track looks like now!

When the Formula 1 circus returns to the Hungaroring near Budapest for the 2025 F1 season, drivers, teams, and media will have to get used to new surroundings. If all goes according to plan, a completely new pit building and new facilities for the media will be completed by mid-2025.

A month after Oscar Piastri celebrated his first Grand Prix victory in Hungary, the pit building on the long straight has now been (almost) completely demolished. Photos shared on the track's Instagram show that - apart from a tower - nothing is left standing. This marks the start of the second phase of the Hungaroring's renovation.

So, after previously rebuilding the main grandstand, now the inner grounds are going to be completely overhauled. With slight pressure from F1 owner Liberty Media, the pit boxes and media facilities will be modernised. The aim - there is not much choice either - is to have everything spick and span by the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix in '25.

Unlike the current season, the Hungarian Grand Prix in '25 is the last race before the summer break starts. That means there is an extra week to complete the work. The Hungarian Grand Prix in 2025 will take place on August 3.
