There have been reports from Italy that Sauber could be the first team to get their 2019 car on the track.

Sauber has scheduled a run of its C38 for the 14th of February in a day which is likely to be used as a 'filming day' with mileage being limited to 100km.

The short test would take place at Ferrari's Fiorano facility according to Motorsport.com Italy.

Ferrari will reveal their car on the 15th of February and will take a big interest in the Sauber test as they share the same engine and rear end components. It has not been clarified which driver will be doing the test.

Returning Sauber driver Kimi Raikkonen has said that he is looking forward to a season of pure racing.

"It’s more pure racing than the other stuff there. Hopefully, it will turn out to be good for both of us - that’s the aim.

"I think that’s what we can do but I’m may be completely wrong, but I have a good feeling about it and that’s why I accepted to go back there," the Finn said to f1i.com
