George Russell was ecstatic after securing pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver will start Sunday's race ahead of Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen, and McLaren's Lando Norris. To celebrate his achievement, Russell re-enacted his iconic intro pose.
Russell's 2023 intro pose has been described as 'iconic' and has been used for a range of memes on social media too. He has admitted that on shoot days the drivers are asked to complete a range of poses, and this is the one that they chose for the intro titles in the end for last season.
Now, after securing himself his first pole position in two years, there was only one way for the British driver to celebrate: the pose. He will now look to convert his pole position into a victory in Sunday's Grand Prix. If successful, this would be the Mercedes driver's second win in F1.
