Yuki Tsunoda has had a good start to the season, and currently sits 10th in the drivers championship standings. Speaking on the Sky Sports F1 podcast, the VCARB driver has shared how the developments McLaren have made have inspired his own team, and how he hopes Monaco can remain an exciting race for both drivers and spectators.

When asked whether the improvements McLaren have made within the space of year have been inspiring for the mid-field teams, Tsunoda said: "That was definitely impressive. They gave us awesome motivation."

"If we keep developing well you know one day maybe we can be in the top three teams. McLaren is definitely one of the things that impressed most and for sure one of the teams that are currently fighting for championships. McLaren were fighting with us last year in the first half of the season so the amount of progress they made was huge. Our team VCARB I think we're on the way slowly."

"What we're aiming now is to beat Aston Martin for the rest of the season. I think we're on the way to the top."

Is Monaco still worth getting exicted for?

With the size of the cars being much larger since racing began at the iconic track, the podcast hosts pointed out that perhaps the racing isn't as exciting for fans or drivers. Nevertheless, Tsunoda defended the track by saying: "I would say the gap with the wall and every corners is very thrilling and it's a very enjoyable race."

"If it's too dry it's hard to overatke to be honest so probably other spectators or people watching maybe might feel less excitement compared to you know where the track you can overtake a lot. As a driver, from my perspective, it's still very special even if you drive around."

"It's one of the races that actually use a lot of focus."
