Max Verstappen was not particularly happy with his RB20 prior to qualifying. The Dutchman won the Japanese Grand Prix convincingly after taking pole position on behalf of Red Bull Racing the day before. Verstappen explained that changes have been made, which he is very happy with. He is also happy that Red Bull is able to bounce back again after the setback in Melbourne.

Changes to Verstappen's RB20

Verstappen's weekend was getting better and better, he said after the race. "I was not happy up until basically qualifying, but then we did make some changes and, yes, of course, I cannot go into detail what we did, but it did help today and it made it a lot nicer to drive and a bit more under control."

Verstappen on winning for Honda

The Japanese Grand Prix is, of course, the home race of Honda, Red Bull's engine supplier. "Not a relief. It's just nice to win. And it's nice, of course, to win here in Japan. It's always an important race for us, the fans, of course, we have a lot of support here, and it's great to win here in front of Honda, and basically have three cars in the points as well," said the reigning world champion.

Revenge on two weeks back in Australia

At the Australian Grand Prix, Verstappen dropped out on the fourth lap after problems with his right-rear brake. The Dutchman had to abandon the battle early on. Verstappen is happy with the revenge on a fortnight ago. "Yes, of course, Melbourne felt like a bit of a, let's say, hiccup. But what we did today, that's what we want to do, and that's what we aim to do every single weekend."
