Corruption investigation into Singapore GP, Formula 1 reassured

According to Singapore's Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), Iswaran allegedly allowed himself to be bribed. He has since resigned despite denying all allegations.

Meanwhile, Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry has also responded to the news: "The terms of all the agreements were carefully considered by the government. There was an independent consultancy study. There is nothing to suggest as of now that either the F1 contracts or other contracts were structured to the disadvantage of the government," the ministry said.

Formula 1 doesn't need to worry about the event. "All preparations for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix in 2024, which is scheduled for 20 – 22 September 2024, are on track."

Moreover, the ministry say they are 100 per cent behind hosting the Formula One event. It points to the additional tourism and money earned from it, as well as many Singaporean companies helping to organise a Grand Prix.
